Ethical Trade
Its not just about stylish, durable schoolwear.
At Trutex we realise we have an obligation to go further than simply working towards the financial success of the business and its customers. We feel it is our responsibility to ensure the growth and development of our supplying operations and their communities throughout the world.
To achieve this we work towards the Ethical trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code, which are a set of principals against which our supplying companies are audited by an independent organisation. This ensures that their employees work in clean, safe environments for fair wages.
Areas that are analysed include:
- Child labour
- Working conditions
- Freedom of association
- Employee selection process
- Wages
- Working hours
- Discrimination
- Regularity of employment
Our policy is to only work with companies whose ethical position is consistent with our own high standards, and also, continually identify opportunities for further development.
